| Summary: | This article introduces performance analysis to the study of media and religion, and emphasizes concepts such as twice-behaved behavior, ritual performance, and transportation (Schechner & Appel, 1990). It applies Hall's (1980) concept of encoding to the vocal performance of Liriel Domiciano at the April 2004 General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS).
