Der Autor beschreibt die Haltungen und Praktiken, in denen (wie sie von ihm für Äthiopien entworfen und durchgeführt) eine durch eine Lehrveranstaltung vorbereitete Studienreise in eine andere Kultur so vorgenommen werden kann, dass sie zur "pilgrimage of theological humanism" wird, welche die Theologie samt angewandter Ethik verändert. In summer 1932 (!) Dietrich Bonhoeffer stated that Christ is encountered in humans of another (in his context: European) country. This insight can be understood as a foundation of intercultural theology, for it is grounded in the image of human beings presented in Genesis 1, the commandment to love your neighbour andMatthew 25. The author describes an academic seminar and excursion program he had designed for previous trips to Ethiopia with university students, and draws particular attention to the attitudes and practices with which he engages students on the trip. These preparations and orientations can transform the learning into a "pilgrimage of theological humanism" which, in turn, challenges and changes basic understandings of theology and ethics. |
