But in contemporary poetry, such imagery has tended to be ignored or used only as an ironic resource. The poetry of Kevin Hart, celebrating both human erotic love and the intense divine love and longing that it images, thus stands out as a daring return to an intimate way of thinking and feeling God that might have seemed to be no longer available. |
