| Summary: | engl.: The essay intends to give an answer to the question about the current usefulness of the temporal sovereignty of the Holy See. An analysis of historical and historical-legal events, ancient and recent, highlights the instrumental nature of actual tiny and temporal sovereighnty. The existence of the State of Vatican City, takes away the Pope from the subjection of political powers, auch as they are, favors the free exercise of the munus petrinum, supports the "positive neutrality" of the Holy See in the international society's life. Ital.: Il saggio intende dare una risposta all'interrogativo circa la perdurante utilità di una sovranità temporale della vicende storiche e storico-giuridiche, antiche e recenti, mette in evidenza la naturapropriamente strumentale dell'ordierna, minuscola sovranità temporale. La sussistenza della Stato della Città del Vaticano sottrae il Pontefice alla soggezione di poteri politici, quali essi siano, favorisce il libero esercizio del munus petrinum, supporta la "neutralità positiva" della Santa Sede nella vita della società internazionale. |
