| Summary: | The article studies in the catechumenate depth in the light of the most recent orientations of the universal and Italian Magisterium. After having recalled the main reference documents and the various interests that in the studies and pastoral reflection have been underlined, some intertpretative directions of the catechumenal experience in the Church today are presented. The dimension of the journey underlying the catechumenal experience is emphasized, that is, therefore, that of preparing to live the faith and not only come the the sacraments together with the complex sturcture of evangelization which enlightens this journey. Reference to the experience of the catechumenate in France offers an extra in-depth understanding of the theme. Some conclusions suggest points of synthesis |
