Summary:The activity of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signature has been regulated in 2008, by the new "lex propria" of that tribunal, contained in the Litt. Ap. Motu proprio "Antiqua Ordinatione". It is a novel text and that will allow to an interesting application and studies on the numerous contained legal aspects in the norm. One stands out that this norm is been from one long doctrinal and legal evolution, so that the antecedents most remarkable are exposed to faciliate the understanding of the norm for the study of the contents and its application. At the same time as the new law comments, the most remarkable characteristics of this new norm are exposed by the author, as much the formal aspects as the nouns. The departure point of the law is the composition and the competitions of the Tribunal. The competions are translated in grouped the own activities of the Apostolic Signature in three blocks of tasks: the judical one, the contentious-administrative resource, and the administrative activity. The regulation of each of these tasks is the object of the new law, wich is detailed by the author indicating the most important aspects
