Summary:The article introduces the theme by preliminaries considerations about the subject. Then there is an accurate analysis of the role of the judge in inquisitorial jurisdiction as active part. Afterwards the study deals with papal mandate, as source of inquisitorial jurisdiction, and the principal features. There are further observations about the concourse between episcopal and inquisitorial penal jurisdiction in the some territory. So the article looks over the delegation of powers in inquisitorial judgement and her employment by commissaries, chancellors and others judge's assistants. Then there are considerations about the nature intrinsecally personal of inquisitorial jurisdiction and the power of inquisitor as independent subjective position in territory; then about his competence on territory as general practical parameter in exertion of juridical function in relation with subject and territory. Finally the study deals with competence of inquisitor on the matter as objective delimiting criterium of juridictional function based on tipology of crime committed
