Summary:Although there is a substantial body of literature on Moroccan Arabic dialects, little attention has been devoted to Jewish vernaculars which are on the verge of extinction due to the mass emigrations of the 1950s and 1960s and other factors. Presented here is an ethno-linguistic analysis of oral texts on folk cures and related practices in the female sociolect of the Judaeo-Arabic dialect of Sefrou, Morocco.
