Description
Summary:The perspective of 'practical ecclesiology' may help us to imagine the Church of the future starting from the real Church we are, holy and sinful. Because of its historical nature, the Church community is in tension between its present, sometimes contradictory, reality and the hope springing up from its own desires for reform. The call to life in abundance demands the humility to face failure and limitation. A consideration of the Church in terms of practical theology could be expressed by four fundamental challenges: low credibility, the deformation of clericalism, a male bias and spiritual worldliness. The article tries to focus some key questions that need to be addressed if we are to discern what Church we want.
