This advocates a Church that embeds itself and lives among the peoples of this world and their cultures. In this sense this article sets out briefly three ideas from Pope Francis' teaching that contribute to this new reception of the Council: the outgoing Church, permanent pastoral conversion and a pastoral approach that goes back to the people's understanding of the faith. The article highlights some of the chief sources of this missionary theology of Francis' with a stress on the historical and relational soteriology that is expressed in the Church's faithful commitment to the building of a world of inclusions and justice in accordance with the values of the Kingdom. |
