Summary: | The integration of psychology and faith is a prominent issue for Christians in both academic and clinical arenas of psychology, with an extensive body of literature describing various theories of [...]Although Christian colleges and universities work with more undergraduate students than graduate students, most research on faith integration within curricula, teaching, and assessment has focused on graduate programs. The present study provides a description of the current state of integration goals and efforts for undergraduate psychology departments in the CCCU. Fifty-two psychology departments in two waves of data collection provided information that indicates the majority have departmental goals and mission statements that include some type of faith integration. Approaches used in teaching integration vary widely, as do efforts to assess success at teaching integration. However, only a small number of psychology departments engage in well-developed efforts at assessing curricular effectiveness in teaching the integration of faith and psychology. |
