| Summary: | Derzeit wird diskutiert, ob zur Selbstbestimmung das Recht auf Selbsttötung gehört. Daher wird die Frage erörtert, ob der Suizid bei körperlich und psychisch kranken Menschen ein Akt der Selbstbestimmung oder ihres Zusammenbruchs ist. Das Tötungsverbot schließt die Selbsttötung ein, vermag aber lebensmüde Menschen nur bedingt vor Suizid zu schützen. Es kommt darauf an, dass dem Menschen medizinische, seelische und geistliche Hilfen zum Leben angeboten werden. It is in debate, if the right to kill oneself is part of the self-determination of humans. Therefore, this article discusses, whether in the case of physically or mentally ill people, suicide is an act of their self-determination or of their breakdown. The prohibition of killing includes self-killing, but is not capable of preventing people weary of life from suicide. It is essential, that people are offered medical, psychological and pastoral help to continue living. |
