| Summary: | By both analysing its poetical structure and applying methods of literary criticism, this essay enters into the question whether and how Ps 3 has developed from a prayer based on a dream oracle to an alleged morning song. In the course of the textual history of Ps 3, processes of edition and composition changed its theological profile for the benefit both of its broader applicability and its embedding in the exposition built up in Ps 3-14: the question of God’s help for the righteous. Mittels Literarkritik und der Analyse poetischer Struktur wird zu zeigen versucht, dass und wie sich Ps 3 vom auf ein Traumorakel bezogenen Gebet zum vermeintlichen „Morgenlied“ entwickelte. Im Zug dieser Textgeschichte veränderten Redaktion und Komposition das theologische Profil zugunsten der breiteren Anwendbarkeit und der Einbettung in den Spannungsbogen von Ps 3-14: der Frage nach der Hilfe Gottes für den Gerechten. |
