| Summary: | The article examines Jesus of Nazareth‟s attitude to war and violence by viewing it in the context of contemporary political circumstances; hereby, early Jewish messianic conceptions and rebellious movements are to be considered. A messianic appearance of Jesus can be proofed implausible, before Jesus‟ different statements on non-violence are discussed. Noticing the acts of violence in Jesus‟ exorcisms leads to a theological classification of the issue of violence in the context of Jesus‟ proclamation of the eschatological kingdom of God, that has already been beginning. Despite his non-aggression Jesus was by no means apolitical, as a concluding sketch of Jesus‟ political positions reveals. Der Beitrag untersucht die Haltung Jesu von Nazaret zu Krieg und Gewalt, indem er sie im Rahmen der zeitgeschichtlichen politischen Verhältnisse betrachtet; dazu zählen auch frühjüdische Messias-Konzeptionen und Aufstandsbewegungen. Ein messianisches Auftreten Jesu wird als unwahrscheinlich erwiesen, bevor Jesu Aussagen zur Gewaltlosigkeit differenziert gesichtet werden. Die Beobachtung des Gewaltpotentials in den Exorzismen Jesu führt zur theologischen Einordnung der Gewaltfrage in Jesu Verkündigung der angebrochenen endzeitlichen Gottesherrschaft. Dass Jesus trotz Gewaltverzicht keineswegs unpolitisch auftrat, zeigt eine abschließende Skizze zu politischen Positionen Jesu. |
