Description
Summary:Ontology has always been the central, systematic discourse in philosophy because of its claim to describe the structures of reality in a universal perspective. However, natural sciences have more recently laid claim to the exclusive compétence in describing reality. This article discusses the claims and challenges of a physicist worldview, exposing its fundamental assumptions, and finally relating a philosophical ontology to these assumptions. Finally, an ontology descriptive in nature is proposed.
