Par rapport au texte massorétique du Psaume, le texte grec présente trois écarts majeurs qui, quant à eux, ont un impact sur les interprétations patristiques. En particulier, le texte grec a tendance à atténuer la métaphore filée «bête de troupeau» (verset 1—4) ; en plus, il introduit le motif de la mort (verset 4a) et fait «habiter» le Psalmiste dans la maison du Seigneur (verset 6). C’est avant tout le motif de la mort qui permet au Pères de faire le rapprochement avec les idées de la résurrection et la vie dans l’au-delà. | ||
| 520 | |a This article studies the Greek version of Psalm 23 (Ps 22 LXX) foundational to patristic interpretations. Compared to the Massoretical text, the Greek betrays three major discrepancies, relevant to patristical interpretations. Notably, the Greek tends to tone down the “live stock” metaphor (verses 1-4), whereas it adds the notion of death (verse 4a), and allows the Psalmist to “dwell” in the House of the Lord (verse 6). It is mostly the idea of death that allows the Father to draw parallels with the Resurrection and afterlife. | ||
