Description
Summary:In examining possible factors of political instability in Iran the article provides information on Iranian opposition groups ranging from convinced monarchists to communist revolutionaries: among other groups on the Saziman-i Mugahidin-i Halq (the Organisation of the Crusaders of the People), the Nahdat-i Muqawamat-i Milli (the National Struggle Movement), the Saziman-i Cirika-i Fida'iyan-i Halq (the Organisation of the Guerilla Crusaders of the People), the Nahdat-i Azadi (the Liberation Movement) and the Hizb-i Millat-i Iran (the National Party of Iran). The article argues that any change in the political regime is unlikely to occur in the near future despite the growing discontent with the regime among the Iranian population since the opposition groups are poorly organized and the regime is in firm control over its internal-security apparatus.
