Description
Item Description:"We, who can know the truth of substance, can thereby know in faith that what is substantially bread and wine is by the power of God alone be transubstantiated into the body and blood of his Son. Knowing that truth of faith, we can by perfect eating of the sacrament be ourselves transformed into what it is we eat, a transubstantiation of its own kind. We thereby know, with the full confidence of the faith that has been revealed and on the basis of the truth of our being-human, that through this most miraculous sacrament, the gates of heaven can be flung wide for us. Pray God that by this sacramental means we may pass through them." (S. 436)
