The characteristic style of relecture ("Fortschreibung"), of variation and amplification (réécriture = "Um-Schreibung") in John 6 leads the reader to a mystagogic way of Christian faith, that overcomes misunderstandings and insufficient confessions. The aim of biblical believe, participation in God's everlasting endurance (cf. John 6:27), which is eternal life, is accessible through the confession to Jesus Christ as God's eschatological bread of life and through the sacramental communion with him in the eucharist. |
