Description
Résumé:Orphan care is important to the heart of God and Christian spirituality, but little is known about faith-based support for adoptive and foster care families. In this article, we describe Replanted, a faith-based ministry that provides emotional support, informational support, and concrete aid for families who are currently engaged in adoption and foster care, as well as those who are considering pursuing adoption and foster care in the future. First, we describe a biblical basis for prioritizing orphan care. Second, we review the important role of support for adoptive and foster care families. Finally, we describe Replanted, including (a) history and core values, (b) primary services, (c) pilot data, and (d) a case study. We conclude by offering future directions for research and application.
