Описание
Итог:This overview article discusses recent publications in the field of Protestant dogmatic theology within the German speaking academia. It identifies three major trends: 1) Christian dogmatics within the framework of a general notion of religion, 2) revised versions of hermeneutical theology, and 3) a return of metaphysical theologies. The first trend is characterised by a shift from mainly subjectivist and transcendental foundations towards richer notions of religion within anthropological and cultural frameworks. It is challenged by normative questions and by the ambiguities of religion as a cultural phenomenon and mainly Western category. The second trend Starts with the ambiguities of human existence and thinks of God and faith along the lines of radical change, of God acting in the event of faith as a new understanding of reality and oneself. It is challenged as fideism by questions for the rationality and universality of its approach. The third trend pursues theology as the attempt to answer ultimate questions with the help of reason. It is challenged by existential issues such as the question of evil, of freedom and contingency, and by the fact that it must understand unbelief as a kind of stupidity. The author finally distinguishes the three trends as reconstructing reality mainly from a first-, a second- or a third-person perspective and argues for the theological significance of the second approach.
