Summary: | This article analyzes the various initiatives in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries were taken to promote the beatification of franciscan Fray Pedro Selleras (1555-1622), who throughout his life story and after death was closely linked to a large area of Aragon. The excellence of the preacher Selleras were exposed by prominent prelates and writers of the Franciscan order (Gonzalez de Mendoza, French Urrutigoiti, Hebrera, Arbiol,...), in addition to other outstanding personalities (the Apaolaza prelates and courteous and Sanguesa,...). Despite all of this, our protagonist, in the process of the doctrinal purity, only surpassed the first test, which made him “venerable”. |
