| Riepilogo: | This contribution presents Jean Vanier's approach to disability. He is the founder of the Arches Communities. The author perceives the weakness and vulnerability of the person as a radical condition of his existence and form this point, proposes a path towards inner freedom and communion. Accepting one's being finite and overcoming the fear of being loved, the human person opens to relationship with others. Paradoxically, it is the relationship with people who experience situations of physical or mental discomfort that can help us mature in accepting our wounds and vulnerabilities, in a progressive itinerary of integrating our shadow areas and in deep reconciliation with our humanity, embraced in the suffering and needs of the other person.
