Description
Summary:This short essay offers some considerations on human vulnerability, seen in the light of the Biblical- Christian Revelation, pointing out that consecrated life, especially religious life, particularly in this time of crisis, can be a prophecy of vulnerability as a resource that witnesses to the "Beyond and Other". The central point of vulnerability is found in freedom, because in it, vulnerability appears in its double aspect: wound as fragility and wound as an opening to love. The foundation is God's Love which creates the human person in his image and likeness, thus capable of freedom, of love. The ambiguity of man's answer and even rejection do not eliminate his being made in the divine image and the possibility of return. Consecrated life arises as the free answer to the call, a fragile yes entrusted to God's fidelity. (English)
