Description
Summary:The article describes the main features of African protestantism, reminds the definition of Evangelical identity, then analyses the recent developments in French speaking African Evangelical Churches. The transition from modernity to postmodernity meant a new dominance on the emotional in Church life. This new note has effects on worship services and on spirituality. But most of all, it is the Evangelical theology and identity that have changed : form is now valued above content ; the sacred is displaced from the Word to things ; traditional Evangelical ethical convictions have been given up. Finally, in this context, the article adresses several proposals to theological seminaries.
