Description
Summary:This paper argues that philosophy serves an important function in the Orthodox tradition and can enable contemporary Orthodox theology to deal with the context of the postmodern world, in which we find ourselves today. The paper suggests that contemporary French philosophy, especially hermeneutics and phenomenology, provides important tools for theological thinking and shows how they might be appropriated in a productive fashion by Orthodox thought today.
