Description
Summary:This paper examines an important feature of the thought of Maximus the Confessor (ca. 580-662), namely the dialectics between the terms logos (reason), tropos (mode) and telos (end), which can be re-actualized as a peculiar theology of dialogue. The author suggests that this theology is likely to engage in a seminal dialogue with postmodernity in general, and with post-Hegelian dialectical philosophy, Lacanian and post-Lacanian psychoanalysis, and phenomenology in particular. An application of this dialogical approach to the issue of race and nation is ventured.
