New light is shed on the forces of creation by the discourse between Jonah and the sailors; their addresses to one another and to God transform creation from an agent of evil to an object of praise and knowledge of Him. Die Schöpfungsdynamik im Jonabuch wird von 4,10f. her oft einseitig als pädagogisches Mittel gedeutet. Doch zeigt Jona 1.2, die wütende Schöpfung als durchaus eigensinnige Größe. Erzähl-stimme, erzählte Welt und Figurenrede erweisen Wind, Sturm und Meer als ambivalente und responsorisch-transformative Kräfte: Gottes Lenkungsabsicht bliebt lange erzählerisch offen. Klarheit bringt die Figurenrede, in der die Schöpfung den Seeleuten (1,14-16) und Jona (2,3-10) von ‚diesem Übel’ zum Objekt des Lobs und der Gotteserkenntnis wird. |
