| Summary: | Die Bedeutsamkeit der Thematik ergibt sich einerseits aus der quantitativen Zunahme der Menschen mit Demenz im Krankenhaus und andererseits aus den ethischen Implikationen im Kontext der Pflege und Versorgung von Menschen mit Demenz im klinischen Setting. Nachfolgend werden exemplarische, ethisch reflexionswürdige Aspekte konturiert und in Bezug auf den damit vielfach verbundenen "moral distress" kontextualisiert. Ausgangs- und Bezugspunkt ist hierbei die (pflege-)professionell beachtliche Gegebenheit, dass Menschen mit Demenz in Krankenhäusern aus ethischer Perspektive eine bedeutsame, vulnerable und in der Folge (sorge-)bedürftige Zielgruppe sind. The topic derives its importance on the one hand from the increased number of people with dementia in hospitals, and on the other from the ethical implications which occur in the context of caring for these groups in a clinical setting. In the following, some examples of aspects worthy of ethical reflection will be delineated and contextualized with respect to the "moral distress" which can often arise from them. The context here is professional nursing, in which from an ethical perspective people with dementia in hospitals comprise an important and vulnerable group, requiring considerable care. |
