Dies geschieht in drei exemplarischen Durchgängen: im Rahmen der historischen Rückfrage nach Jesus; mit Blick auf das Evangelium, das am stärksten die Bedeutung des Handelns profiliert (Matthäus); schließlich im Rückgriff auf den ethischen Ansatz in der Theologie des Paulus. | ||

This context cannot be adequately captured by defining it in terms of demands made on believers by the outside world. The present article follows the trail of New Testament scriptures according to which the Gospel is intended as a guide to enable individuals to act in an appropriate manner. This is done in three exemplary steps: firstly, by looking back at the historical Jesus; secondly, by looking at the Gospel which most clearly stresses the importance of action (the Gospel according to Matthew); and lastly, by drawing on the ethics of Pauline theology. | ||
