Resumo:This paper seeks to address the development of the Cuban church over the past sixteen years, a period in which church leadership has come to terms with the revolutionary process. In particular, reference is made to the dynamics of change seen within the church and within the Partido Comunista de Cuba. The central thesis is that the church, inherently conservative and once quite influential, is now quietly seeking an identity within the revolution and, gradually, is being accepted within the society
