| Summary: | In a recent issue of Biblische Notizen, Benjamin Kilchör has argued that the phrase in Exod 20:24b is to be translated as a singular: “in the entire place”. Close inspection of the syntax shows, however, that the traditional analysis of the phrase as a distributive, “in every place”, is in fact required. In einer der letzten Ausgaben der Biblischen Notizen hat Benjamin Kilchör die Auffassung vertreten, dass der Ausdruck in Exod 20,24b mit „am ganzen Ort“ übersetzt werden sollte. Eine genaue Überprüfung der Syntax zeigt aber, dass die traditionell vertretene Deutung des Ausdrucks im Sinne eines distributiven „an jedem Ort“ tatsächlich beizubehalten ist. |
