Description
Summary:With our unprecedented longevity and widespread interest in conscious aging, we are beginning to experience a new developmental stage in the human life cycle. Having unexpectedly morphed from a practicing clinical psychologist to an ordained interfaith minister, I can attest to its power and purpose. Drawing on mythical, personal, psychological, spiritual, and mystical insights, this article describes three forces that I believe are responsible for our changing experience of age: 1. Spontaneous initiations; 2. Age-related transformations of self and consciousness; and 3. Sacred revelations arising from transformed consciousness. We may also be witnessing the evolution of a new kind of human.
