Summary:This article postulates that the way African Pentecostal women politicians utilize the religious discourse of wifely submission in exercising religio-political power reinforces populism and perpetuates patriarchy-informed politics in Zambia. It will demonstrate that their religio-political engagement is based on ideological allegiance to institutional political systems of power tailored to promote the patriarchal agenda.
