| Summary: | This paper reinforces the view that it is essential to find ways to widen the sphere of public concern and to influence the institutional mechanisms that bring about policy change with regard to an understanding of spirituality. It describes how spirituality and spiritual care were addressed during the passage of the Care Bill through the UK Parliament; and the outcome of this process in the Care Act which comes into operation in April 2015. It concludes with a summary of how the Christian Science movement has been engaged in such work for more than a century. |
