First, the primary purposes of the ministry were to (a) allow parents and caregivers to go to worship and (b) build real, meaningful relationships with the group members. Next, when examining why the group saw itself as a needed ministry, two themes also emerged: (a) special needs families require extensive support and (b) special needs individuals need support and friendship.
