Description
Summary:Although William Allt appears in regional and national Baptist histories, it is as one whose early promise was quickly ruined by vying for leadership and by being suspected of heretical views. The congregations he formed were mostly in Leicestershire and called themselves General Baptists; it was others who called them Antinomians. His churches died out by 1860. This article gathers such evidence as there is of a tiny Baptist brand with its opportunities and failures.
