2 Sam 4:6: A Case of Textual Criticism Interfacing with Hebrew Verb Syntax

We propose revisiting Wellhausen’s restoration of the Hebrew text of 2 Sam 4:6 on the basis of the Septuagint and revising his Qal סֹקְלָה to Piel מְסַקְלָה out of consideration of the syntagmatic patterns of the verb.
