Sumario:Comics and graphic novels are increasingly popular today, and there are numerous ways one can incorporate them into the Religious Studies classroom. Using comics is not, however, driven solely by their popularity; rather, the ability to select wide-ranging theoretical and methodological approaches to comics creates opportunities for instructors to meet their pedagogical goals and course outcomes in exciting new ways. This essay aims to introduce a variety of scholarly resources, as well as a sample of comics rife with religious themes, for instructors considering using comics in the classroom. One can readily adapt the secondary readings, comics, and approaches to fit one's institutional location and pedagogical preferences.
