Notes on 2 Kings 9:36-37

This article address several issues relevant to 2 Kgs 9:36-37. The most crucial of these is that the first word in v. 37, Ketiv והית / Qeri וְהָיְתָה, should stand, contra the recent proposal by Jerome Walsh to read the noun ‘ruin, destruction’ here.
