Summary:This article focuses on the nexus of boredom and violence in the human spirit, and the nexus between the aim of peacemaking and the activity of Baptism and the Lord's Supper, in the relationality of human spirit to Holy Spirit. To elucidate the first nexus, I turn to Erich Fromm's classic study of aggression, and to elucidate the second I turn to both Orthodox and Anabaptist sacramental perspectives, which though different supplement each other.
