Riepilogo:This article analyses 35 homily-introductions based on a joke from the collection of 71 homilies by Prof. Anton Fabian. Besides providing statistical data regarding the extent of the material in such introductions, the author examines the manner in which they are used, as shown in detail with three select examples. The conclusion reached is that Prof. Fabian always uses a joke to introduce the topic of a homily.
