Description
Summary:This essay deals with Christian eschatology as a “new creation” based on the bodily resurrection of Jesus, in contrast to scientific cosmologies that predict a “cosmic freeze” and the end of all life and matter in the universe. The seemingly impossible challenge science poses to theology arises from a philosophical assumption that the predictions of science must come to pass, when there are good reasons for applying a theological scenario to discussion of the future of the universe. Creative dialogue between Christian eschatology and scientific cosmology holds potential benefit for both sides of the debate.
