Resumo:The article discusses the relationship between art, theology and urban culture, including in regard the aesthetics of what is considered ugly. An overview of the social conditions of cities, including in regard to inequality, race and the responses of hip-hip music to urban social conditions, is provided. Topics, including ancient Palestine, the work of Spanish poet Federico Garcia Lorca and the painting of of Spanish artist Pablo Picasso, are discussed.
