Summary: | Does the new so-called postmodern context really provide an environment for faith? Furthermore, can Tillich provide any resources in order to reflect on faith in such a context? Following a few remarks on sensitive crucial aspects of the postmodern context, this paper underlines several pertinent Tillichian ideas which are in phase with our times. The faith which is of interest here is a transcendent event at the heart of immanence, an irruption of “God beyond God” at the heart of existence, which gives courage for self-affirmation despite the Nothingness. |
