| Summary: | Abstract: This note examines Lauren Monroe’s recent suggestion that a Holiness (H) substratum can be detected in the ritual and cultic elements of Josiah’s reform in II Reg 23. Critical review of Monroe’s arguments suggests that she is correct that the extent of non-D language evident in II Reg 23 is an issue requiring re-examination. However, the specific connections she identifies between II Reg 23 and H are ultimately uncompelling. Zusammenfassung: Dieser Beitrag untersucht Lauren Monroes aktuellen Ansatz, der davon ausgeht, dass ein Grundbestand des Heiligkeitgesetzes (H) in den rituellen und kultischen Elementen der Reform des Josiah in II Reg 23 festgestellt werden kann. Nach einer kritischen Abwägung ihrer Argumentation kann Monroe dahingehend zugestimmt werden, dass das Ausmaß von nicht-D-Sprache, das in II Reg 23 festgestellt werden kann, neuerer Untersuchungen bedarf. Allerdings sind die Verbindungen, die sie zwischen II Reg 23 und H ausmacht, nicht unbedingt zwingend. Résumé: La présente note examine une proposition récente de Lauren Monroe, selon laquelle un substrat H (=école de sainteté) serait identifiable dans les éléments rituels et cultuels de la réforme de Josias en 2 Rois 23. Une évaluation de l’argumentation de Monroe suggère que la place du langage non-deutéronomiste en 2 Rois 23 mérite effectivement d’être réexaminée, ainsi que l’auteure le défend. Cependant, les liens spécifiques que Monroe identifie entre 2 Rois 23 et H ne peuvent pas être considérés comme convaincants. |
