Summary: | The preserved palimpsests give evidence for the presence of the texts of Menander in the Syriac school tradition in Late Antiquity. Two Syriac gnomologies under the name of Menander develop the Hellenistic tradition of combining Greek moral philosophy with Jewish wisdom literature.
