Summary: | In the European context, didactics of the study of religions has not yet been established as a sub-discipline of the academic study of religions. Regardless of this fact, there are numerous ways in which religion and religions are dealt with in schools in Europe. This article distinguishes between integrative, separative and learning-dimension approaches to education about religion in schools. Referring to integrative religious education in Sweden and Norway, and with a glance at the situation of integrative religious education in Germany, the development of general as well as context specific didactics of the study of religions is regarded as a key challenge for the academic discipline of the study of religions. |
