This effect is here explained as follows: 1. as literature it provides a collective imagery, 2. in the motif of the endangered saviour child it embodies salvation action and offers a model of coping with hybridity, 3. as an object of audience cult and youth culture it offers an open-door opportunity for communion with relaxing collective rituals, and 4. it increases the medial »intensity« of religious (Christian as well as esoteric) elements in the worldview of the recipient. | ||
