[3]. - "At the meeting of the Joint Commissions on Church Union of the Reformed Church in the United States, the Church of the United Brethren in Christ, and the Evangelical Synod of North America at Dayton, Ohio, February 7, 1929, a committee on publicity was appointed for the purpose of making accessible to the membership of the three church bodies the essential facts concerning the history, organization, polity, and activities of each communion, so that all members might be able to study the situation intelligently before forming their opinion in regard to the proposed trilateral organic union. ... The valuable contributions of Dr. Geo. W. Richards, Dr. H.R. Niebuhr, and Bishop A.R. Clippinger are gratefully acknowledged. ... [Signed] The Committee on Publicity, J.H. Horstmann, William R.
